 Remain impartial to all individuals
 Listen to concerns
 Keep information confidential
 Protect your anonymity
 Help clarify concerns
 Help identify and evaluate resolution options
 Help you to help yourself
 Provide information, coaching and confidential guidance
 Identify trends and opportunities for improvement or 
  changes to prevent problems from recurring

The Ombudsman won't: 
     Take sides
 Breach confidentiality
 Conduct formal investigations
 Determine policy
 Make management decisions
 Substitute for formal channels
 Accept notice of claims on behalf of AB
